The Chattogram Wikipedia Community is the first of the seven regional communities of the Wikimedia Bangladesh, working to provide volunteer support for the promotion and expansion of Wikimedia projects in the Chattogram Division of Bangladesh. The community was formed on 14 July 2014 and was approved by the Regional Council constitution of the Wikimedia Bangladesh in November 2016.

The primary goal of this community is to enrich Chittagong-related information on Wikimedia projects and take various steps to increase volunteerism in the Chittagong region as well as to coordinate among them. So far, a significant number of volunteers, both active and inactive, have contributed to this community. Among them are university-college students and professionals.

Community activities include organizing and overseeing Wikimeetups, Wikipedia workshops at educational institutions, support projects for Wikipedians, photowalks, etc.

Objectives

Growing awareness of Wikimedia projects in the Chittagong region.
To enrich information data related to Chittagong on Wikimedia projects.
Introducing the free encyclopedia and knowledge to the students and other professionals in Chittagong and ensuring their use in an effective way.
Conducting workshops, meetings, conferences, photowalks and meetups to promote Wikimedia's educational/non-profit activities jointly with various eminent educational institutions, organizations, museums and others.
To accelerate the educational activities of the Wikimedia Foundation.
To have an effective role in the field of education by providing a source for the use of existing educational content in Wikimedia.
Preserve the culture and heritage of Chittagong through the free encyclopedia.
Creating cultural bridges by establishing friendly relationships between different cultures.
Working on a free encyclopedia through the regional languages of Chittagong.
