January 15, 2001: The largest free encyclopedia- Wikipedia unleashed over online.
June 14, 2004: Bangla Wikipedia inaugurates over online.
July 14, 2007: First Dhaka Meet up-1 of Bangladeshi Wikipedians was held in Dhaka.
January 4, 2008: Wikimedia Bangladesh started in Meta and Wikimedia Bangladesh inaugurated.
January 8, 2008: First discussion in Wikimedia Bangladesh talk page and invitation to create Wikimedia Bangladesh chapter.
September 4, 2009: First IRC online meeting of Bangladeshi Wikipedians was held. Planning and Activities of Wikimedia Bangladesh was discussed for the first time.
December 11, 2010: Dhaka Meet up was held. Meeting planned the celebration of the 10 years anniversary of Wikipedia on January 2011. Meeting also emphasized on how to create the Wikimedia Bangladesh chapter quickly.
January 15, 2011: Wikipedia's 10th birthday was observed in Dhaka and Chittagong at a time.
February 14, 2011: Writing the Memorandum of Association (MoA) for the Wikimedia Bangladesh was started.
April 29, 2011: MoA was sent to Wikimedia Foundation for the approval of the Chapter Committee.
May 24, 2011: MoA of Wikimedia Bangladesh was first published in Meta for open discussion, according to the Chapter Committee's agreement.
October 3, 2011: After long discussion on the section-sub section of MoA of Wikimedia Bangladesh, and necessary correction, the Wikimedia Chapter Committee, MoA was sent to Wikimedia Foundation. Wikimedia Board of Trustees approved the MoA of Wikimedia Bangladesh, and temporarily approved it as a new chapter.
October 13, 2011: Wikimedia Bangladesh was officially announced an Approved Chapter by the Wikimedia Foundation.
October 15, 2011: The first website of Wikimedia Bangladesh inaugurated.
