Bangla WikiConference 2026
The goal of this conference is to create a common platform for Bangla-speaking Wikimedians to exchange ideas, foster collaboration, and share experiences and best practices. The conference will feature discussions on the potential, challenges, and future development of Bangla Wikipedia and its sister projects. Additionally, there will be opportunities to present reports on new initiatives, research, technological innovations, and community-based activities.
Furthermore, opportunities will be created for networking, expanding collaboration, and exchanging ideas through the participation of individuals and representatives of organizations associated with the free knowledge movement. Open to all Bangla-speaking Wikimedians, this conference will play a role in opening new horizons for knowledge sharing, community development, and sustainable collaboration.Theme
The theme of Bangla WikiConference 2026 is: "Free Knowledge, Collective Effort, Sustainable Future". This theme reflects the commitment to building an inclusive, collaborative, and long-term sustainable wiki community grounded in free knowledge.
♦ Free Knowledge: The core foundation of the Wikimedia movement is to build a world where every person can freely acquire, use, and share knowledge. Bangla WikiConference 2026 is an opportunity to further strengthen this ideal of free knowledge. Through discussions on the role, challenges, and potential of Wikimedia projects in building a reliable, verifiable, and openly accessible knowledge repository for all, participants will explore ways to further enrich free knowledge. Additionally, special emphasis will be placed on equity of access to information, the free flow of knowledge, and the importance of multilingual knowledge practice.
